RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Kathryn Guardi, 83, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2014, with her loving family by her side. Kate was born November 18, 1930 in Olyphant, PA, the daughter of Michael and Amelia Drop. Kate was educated in Richfield Springs.On October 4, 1952, at the St. Joseph Church in Richfield Springs she was united in marriage to the late Peter Guardi.Kate always thought of others before herself.She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Casio (Rose and Ann) doing puzzles and loved to read.Kate was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Darlene Guardi of Richfield Springs, Richard and Lisa Guardi of Cherry Valley, four daughters, Theresa and Richard Washburn of Leonardsville, Marie and Ray of Cedarville, Lorraine and Donald Vivacqua of Falls Church, VA, Linda Guardi of Richfield Springs, four grandchildren, Sarah Jones, April and Melissa Guardi, Michael Washburn, three great-grandchildren, Leila, Alex, Ethan, and her cat Posie. In keeping with Kates wishes there will be no calling hours.Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at St. Josephs Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Richfield Springs on Friday May 16th at 2:00 pm, followed by a celebration of life at the Veterans Club Post #616, Lake Street, Richfield Springs. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory can be made to your local animal shelter. Arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
