MOHAWK - Kathryn B. Wright, 94, of 37 W. Main St., passed away Monday morning, Feb. 4, 2002, in Faxton Hospital, Utica.
She was born May 16, 1907, in Ogdensburg, daughter of the late Edward and Frances Gedbaugh Burns. Kathryn was raised and educated in Ogdensburg. On Aug. 1, 1936, she married Lynn E. Wright in Greenwich, Conn., a loving and devoted union of over 33 years until his passing on July 24, 1970.
Mrs. Wright and her husband owned and operated Wright's Furniture in Mohawk. She continued the business along with her son, Larry, after her husband's death. She had worked actively in the store until she was 92 years old, retiring in 1999.
She had a strong belief in God and lived a devoted Episcopal life. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk, and the Ladies Guild of the Church. She belonged to the Mohawk Valley Business Professional Women's Association.
All that knew her will remember her smile and friendly manner. She will never be forgotten.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Robert E. and Sandra Wright of Elmira, James B. and Marlene Wright of Middletown, Del. and Lawrence F. and Merry Ann Wright of Ilion; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Burial Office from the Book of Common Prayer and Holy Eucharist will be offered on Wednesday at noon in the Grace Episcopal Church, Mohawk. The Rev. Robert E. Witt Jr., rector, will officiate.
The family will be present in the church to receive relatives and friends Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service, from 11 a.m. until noon. Interment in Mohawk Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
