RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Kathryne AnneBloomfield, age 75, of Union Street, passedaway on Tuesday, July 23, 2002, in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown with herloving family at her side. She was born on February 4, 1927, in Albanydaughter of the late John and Elizabeth Gallogly O'Neill. Mrs. Bloomfield wasraised in Albany where she graduated from Holy Name High School. She furtheredher education, graduating from the College of St. Rose, Albany where shereceived a Masters Degree in English and from Boston University with a MastersDegree in History. A resident of Richfield Springs for the past fifty years, shecame here from Albany. For 43 years, she taught English for the RichfieldSprings Central Schools retiring in June of this year. She will always be remembered as a loving,caring, and hopeful person and will be greatly missed by many especially herfamily. Surviving are two sons and their wives,Russell and Rhoda Bloomfield of Richfield Springs, Bill and Vicki Bloomfield ofCooperstown; two daughters and their husbands, Mary and Jake Gibbs of Boston,MA, Katherine and Nick Macri of Herkimer; nine grandchildren, Daniel Bloomfieldof Richfield Springs, Austin and Alexis Bloomfield of Cooperstown, Elizabeth andOlivia Gibbs of Boston, MA, Nicholas, Kathryn, Joseph, and Alexandra Macri allof Herkimer. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebratedin Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Avenue in Albany at 10:30 am Saturday,July 27th. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden Cemetery inColonie. A funeral procession to the church willcommence from the J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St. RichfieldSprings Saturday at 8:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may bemade to the Kathryne Bloomfield Scholarship Fund of the Richfield SpringsCentral Schools. Envelopes will be available at the church or the funeral home.
