Obituary

SCHUYLER LAKE-Keith Frederick Fryer, age 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, June 17, 2015, in the Otsego Manor, Cooperstown. He was born on March 29, 1920 in Albany, son of the late Grant and Elizabeth Frederick Fryer. He was raised in Altamont where he graduated high school. He first worked as a mechanic for Gages Garage in Altamont before owning and operating the Stoney Acres Dairy Farm in Meadowdale. On August 7, 1943, he was united in marriage with the former Harriet Gilgore in Albany. Together they worked the dairy farm until their retirement in 1978. After retirement they resided in Albany, Cherry Valley and in 2003 moved to Schuyler Lake. Mrs. Fryer died on May 9, 2008 after sharing a loving and devoted union of sixty-four years with her husband. Mr. Fryer had a strong belief in God and was of the Lutheran faith. He was a member of Farm Bureau, an Agway Committeeman and a member of the Flying Farmers of America. To all who knew Keith he was an honest and caring man. Any conversation with him was straight and to the point, yet you felt a warmth and friendship whenever you were with him. He will be greatly missed. Surviving him are a daughter, Mary L. Favil and her husband Jim of Lodi, NY, one son, Keith R. Fryer of Washington State, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nephews and a cousin. A graveside service for Mr. Fryer will take place on Monday at 11:00 am in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. Funeral arrangements are with J.
