RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Larry Elliott Bond age 66 of Johnson Street passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning January 22, 2012 in his home.
He was born on February 24, 1945 in Cooperstown, son of the late Harold W. and Mae Belle Seamon. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident he graduated from Richfield Springs High School with the class of 1963.
He at one time was married to the former Sharon Whalen.
On March 2, 2003 he was united marriage with the former Nancy Litts in Richfield Springs.
A machinist by trade he at one time worked for The Chicago Pneumatic Company in Utica and for sixteen years at the Remington Arms Company in Ilion. He retired in 1999. After his retirement he worked part time driving bus and was also employed as a caretaker at Saint Josephs Cemetery, Richfield Springs.
He was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Church in Richfield Springs. Larry enjoyed sports. In high school he excelled at playing varsity baseball. Throughout his life he was active in coaching, Little League Baseball, Girls Softball and basketball. He umpired as well as playing softball for both Bond Construction Company and Remington Arms Softball League. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, family and community.
Surviving are his loving wife Nancy, two sons, Fred H. Bond, Larry E. Bond II and his wife Diane, one daughter Jean Coolis and her husband Stephen, a step-son, John Anderson all of Richfield Springs, two step daughters, Jessica Litts of Kingston and Dawn Anderson of Richfield Springs, five brothers, Lloyd Bond, Donald Bond and his wife Joy, Daniel Bond and his wife Patricia, Richard Bond, and Dennis Bond with his wife Laurie all of Richfield Springs, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours for Mr. Bond will be on Friday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm with the Reverend Terence Healy, Pastor of Saint Joseph the Worker Church, Richfield Springs officiating. Interment will be later this spring in Twilight Rest Cemetery, Monticello at a time to be announced.
