ILION – Larry R. Goodrich, age 76, of 100 West Main Street, passed away on Sunday evening, June 4, 2023 in The Grand Nursing Center in Ilion. He was born on May 19, 1947 in Herkimer a son to the late Ralph and Margaret Abeline Goodrich. Raised in Herkimer he attended St. Francis deSales Grade School and graduated from Herkimer High School. Larry learned to become a electrician through BOCES and received his certification. He was also a machinist working for Mohawk Data Systems and Union Fork and Hoe. For many years he and his companion Jacalyn shared their lives together until her passing on December 8, 2007. Larry was a member of St. Francis deSales Church, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Larry was always happiest when he spent time with his brother Ray. He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten. Surviving him are his daughter Crystal Bass, of Utica his sons, George Rogers and his wife Christa of East Herkimer, Ray Ruthford and his wife Susan of Herkimer, a sister Barbara DeMars and her husband Terry of Herkimer, his grandchildrren David and Lyndsey Bass, Kaitlyn, Chloe, Cameron, and Cayden Rogers, Dylan, Rhylee, and Frankie Ruthford, Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents and long time companion Jacalyn, he preceded in death by his brother Raymond and his grandson Nathan Joseph Bass. Calling hours for Mr. Goodrich wil be on Monday from 4:00-6:00pm in Fenner Funeral Home Inc. 115 Court Street, Herkimer, A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon in St. Francis deSales Church, Herkimer.
