Richfield Springs-Laura Stella Sdrewski, 84, of Walnut Street, died onMonday morning, July 24, 2000 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
She was born on October 29, 1915 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the lateJoseph and Stella Saloman. Laura came to the Town of Warren from New Havenin 1924 and was educated in both Warren and Richfield SpringsSchools.
On November 8, 1944 she married Leo F. Sdrewski in Blessed Sacrament Church,Springfield Center. After a loving union of forty-nine years Mr. Sdrewskipassed away on December 10, 1993. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother,her family came first. She will be always remembered for the warm cookiesand apple pies that no one could top.
She was a member of Saint's Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs and theRichfield Springs Senior Citizens.
Surviving her are three daughters, Donna and her husband Robert Fenton ofPlano TX, Cynthia Sdrewski of Vienna VA, Mary and her husband Gary Weingates ofRichfield Springs, a sister; Helen and her husband John Duga of RichfieldSprings, four grandchildren; Robert Fenton of Plano TX, Lisa Marie Weingates,Laura Mae Weingates, and Gary Martin Weingates all of Richfield Springs, severalnieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be present to recieve family and friends on Thursday eveningfrom 7-9 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, RichfieldSprings. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00am in St. Joseph'sChurch, Richfield Springs with the Reverend Terrance Healy officiating.Interment will follow on to St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to the St. Joseph's Church or the AmericanCancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
