Lela I. Hardy JORDANVILLE - Lela I. Hardy, 94, of Main Street, died on Fridayafternoon, November 24, 2000 in Little Falls Hospital.
She was born on January 24, 1906 in the town of Springfield, a daughter of the lateClarence and Ruby Jane Day Moyer. Raised and educated in the town of Springfield, shegraduated from Springfield teachers training school. For several years she taught schoolin rural one-room school houses finally teaching in the Wiltsey Hill District, the sameschool she had once attended. She retired from teaching in 1933 to raise her family. In1929 she married Donald M. Hardy, moving to Jordanville at that time. They shared adevoted union of 53 years until his passing in 1982.
She was a member of the Jordanville Federated Church, and a past president of theirLadies Aid Society.
Surviving are one son, Lucius Hardy of Ilion, many grandchildren, severalgreat-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Besides her husband Donald, she was preceded indeath by a daughter Marian Hardy in 1938; two sons, Stanley O. Hardy in 1991, R. SpencerHardy in 1998, and her brothers and sisters.
Interment in Highland Rural Cemetery, Jordanville, will be private and at theconvenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
