RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Lewis Edwin Ough, age 71, of Lake Street,son of the late J. Edwin and Meryl McRorie Ough passed away on Monday morningMay 13, 2002 in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital where also he was born on August14, 1930.
He was a graduate of Springfield Central School "Classof 1947" and the Albany Business College. Lewis then served with the USArmy in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged 1953.After his military service he continued his education at Rider University wherehe graduated in 1956.
On October 19, 1957 he married Marilyn E. Young in SaintMary's Episcopal Church, Springfield Center. For more than ten years he was anAccountant for Wolverine World Wide, Tru-Stitch Footwear Division in Malone,retiring in 1992. He and his wife Marilyn came to Richfield Springs in 1993 andhave resided since.
Mr. Ough had a strong belief in God and was a member of SaintMary's Episcopal Church, Springfield Center. He was a member and Past Master onTrumansburg Lodge #157 Free and Accepted Masons, a member and Past Patron ofTrumansburg Star Chapter #479 Order of the Eastern Star, a former member of theNational Association of Accountants and in his early years supervised the LittleLeague and the Boy Scouts of America activities.
Surviving besides his wife of forty-four years Marilyn are ason, Daniel and his wife Coral Ough of Freeville; one daughter, Cynthia and herhusband Stuart Cunningham of Amesbury, MA; a sister, Anne and her husband AlvahStearns of Syracuse, several nieces and a nephew.
A Memorial Service with Holy Eucharist will be held on Saturday May 18, at11:00 AM in Saint Mary's Episcopal Church Springfield Center, the ReverendPersis Williams, Rector will officiate. Interment in Springfield Center Cemeterywill follow.
