ILION Lillian Parmer, 82, formerly of Elm Street, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in Faxton-St Lukes HealthCare, New Hartford, after a short illness. She had the comfort of her loving daughter by her side.She was born on June 4, 1925, in Newport, daughter of the late Harvey and Mae Rood Everson. Lillian was a lifelong area resident. In 1970, she was united in marriage with Floyd Parmer in the Scotsbush Church in Oppenheim. For 28 years she worked as a cutter for Little Falls Footwear, retiring in 1978.Lillian, along with her husband has resided in Rome for the past three years, coming form Ilion.Mrs. Parmer had a strong belief in God and was a member of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls. In her leisure time she enjoyed Antiquing. She was a collector and buyer. Lillian was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving besides her husband of 38 years, Floyd, are one daughter, Francine and her husband Louis Rognoni with whom Lillian resided in Rome; a brother Harvey and his wife Alice Everson of Lowville; two sisters, Edna Mathis of Lowville and Marjorie Renodin of Herkimer; two granddaughters and their husbands, Carla and Jeff Davidson of Brockport, Christine and Doug Fries of Madison, Ala.; five great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.Funeral services will be on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court St., Herkimer. The Rev. Wrightson Tongue, pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls, will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the funeral service (5 to 6 p.m.)The family wishes to express their appreciation to Veronica of Faxton-St. Lukes Senior Health Network and the nurses and staff on Three East at St. Lukes Medical Center for their care and compassion during Lillians illness.
