Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Lorraine Guzik age 78 formerly of McKoons Road passed away peacefully on Friday night March 4, 2016 in Folts Home, Herkimer. She was born on March 26, 1937 in Van Hornesville, daughter of the late Paul and Mary Kuzmak Jouben. A lifelong area resident she was a graduate of Van Hornesville High School. On May 4, 1957 she was united in marriage with Walter J. Guzik in Saint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs. They shared a loving and devoted union of fifty-one years until his passing on August 6, 2008. For forty-three years she with her husband owned and operated the Bee Line Diary Farm in the town of Columbia. She retired in 2000. Mrs. Guzik had a strong faith in God and was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker RC Church, Richfield Springs where she served on the Altar Rosary Society. Lorraine found her relaxation in belonging to various bowling leagues and was also active with the 4-H Club. To all who knew her, she was an ambitious, hardworking and caring lady. To her family she was the strength that held them together in good times or bad. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren. Surviving her are a son, Joseph S. Guzik and his wife Toni of Richfield Springs, two daughters, Sharon Lust and her husband Donald of Pepperell, MA, Patricia Zaleski and her husband William of West Winfield, one brother, Larry Jouben and his wife Diane of Richfield Springs, five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Walter she was preceded in death by by a daughter, Frances Guzik, two sisters Janice Sarafin and Marion Sarafin and a brother Paul Jouben. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Guzik will be on Tuesday At 11:00 am in Saint Joseph the Worker Church, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Silvaster Sarihaddula, Pastor will officiate. Interment will take place later this spring in Saint Josephs Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the church service. Funeral arrangements are with J.
