HERKIMER - Lorraine Irene Murray age 78 of Steuben Hill Road passed away peacefully on Saturday morning June 16, 2012 in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. She was born on December 23, 1933 in Brooklyn, daughter of the late Edward and Irene Trojanowski Kosky. Lorraine was raised in Brooklyn and was a graduate of Home Making High School in Greenpoint. On October 25, 1952 she was united in Holy Matrimony with Robert Miller Murray in Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church, Brooklyn. They shared a loving and devoted union of forty-seven years until; his passing on October 31, 1999. Mrs. Murray had worked as a Preparation Person at Mengers Florist Shop in Farmingdale before retiring in 1983. In 1996 she with her husband moved to Herkimer coming from Farmingdale. She has resided her since. Mrs. Murray had a strong faith in God and was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. In her leisure time she enjoyed cooking as well as playing cards and bingo with her close friends. To all who knew her she was a loving, caring and hopeful woman whose family was always first and foremost in her life. She was especially proud of her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are a son Kevin Murray and his wife Nancy of Sound Beach, LI, three daughters, Renee Murray of Herkimer, Robin DeMartino and her husband Frank of Herkimer, Judy Spatafora of Alabaster, Alabama, one sister Joanne Palamero and her husband Richard of Brunswick, OH, six grandchildren James Murray, Deann Kruse, Allison Murray, Frankie DeMartino, Melissa DeMartino, Valarie Spatafora, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am in Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. The Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Herkimer County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
