Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Louis S. Seamon Junior age 84 of County Highway #24, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning June 8, 2010 in Folts Homes, Herkimer. He was born on September 15, 1925 in the town of Exeter, son of the late Lewis and Martha Domion Seamon. He was raised and educated in Exeter. On September 30, 1945 he was united in marriage with the former Marie Carlson in Saint Johns Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs. Mr. Seamon was a man with many talents. For forty-five years he owned and operated a dairy farm in Monticello. He was an accomplished carpenter and for eighteen years was the Highway Superintendant for the town of Richfield. He retired in December of 1997. In his leisure time he found great joy and relaxation hunting, fishing and beekeeping. To all who knew him they will remember a hard working man who would stop whatever he was doing to help someone else. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed especially by his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are his loving wife of sixty-four years Marie, seven sons, Tex Seamon and his wife Betty of Richfield Springs, Philip Seamon of Anderon, AK, Monty Seamon and his wife Candice of Richfield Springs, William Seamon and his wife Robyn of Richfield Springs, Marty Seamon of Burlington Flats, Rex Seamon and his wife Dawn of Richfield Springs, Jeff Seamon of Richfield Springs, two daughters, DiAnna Reynolds and her husband Henry of Kennebunkport, ME, Deondra Seamon of Utica, five brothers, Merton Seamon and his wife Diane of Richfield Springs and Texas, Edward Seamon, Howard Seamon, James Seamon and his wife Ann, Grant Seamon and his wife Joan, Lee Seamon all of Richfield Springs, three sisters, Elizabeth Collins and her husband Lee of Jordanville, Rose Zenner of Otego, Virginia Horner of Herkimer, thirty-one grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 10:00 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend John Young will officiate. Interment will follow in Twilight Rest Cemetery, Monticello. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be expressed with memorial donations to the Alzheimer Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
