Obituary

Schuyler Lake - Louise C. Shaul, of State Highway #28, died on Sundayevening, July 23, 2000 in Bassett Healthcare Cooperstown. She was born on December 23, 1908, in Ovid, NY, daughter of the late Irvingand Anna Freeman Clarke. Louise was raised in Ovid where she waseducated. On August 4, 1924, she married Jay Shaul in Penn Yann, a lovingand devoted union of fifty years until his passing on January 26, 1975.Mrs. Shaul had worked for Sure-Catch Fishing Tackle in Richfield Springs,retiring in 1961. She was a member of the Richfield Springs Senior Citizens and the SchuylerLake Home Bureau. Surviving her are one son Lawrence Shaul of Schuyler Lake; three daughtersand their husbands, Dolores and Reno Cotteli of Vallejo, CA, Eleanor and RichardEvans of West Winfield, Josephine and Reinhardt Burdt of Richfield Springs; ninegrandchildren; many great, and great-great -grandchildren; several nieces andnephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Shaul; a brother,Charles Clarke and a sister, Cora Troutman. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in J SeatonMcGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, with theReverend John Young, officiating, Interment will follow in the Schuyler LakeCemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receiverelatives and friends on Wednesday evening 7 - 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, theSchuyler Lake First Responders or the Richfield Bassett Healthcare fund.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
