RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Lynne Ann Stickles age 61 of Main Street, passed away on Wednesday March 17, 2010 in St. Lukes Medical Center, New Hartford. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.
She was born on April 27, 1948 in Ilion, daughter of the late Paull E. and Emma Jean Barse Watkins. A lifelong area resident she was a graduate of Mohawk High School. On September 3, 1966 she was united in marriage with George Lester Stickles in the Mohawk Reformed Church. They made their home in Columbia Centeruntil 1966 when they moved to Richfield Springs.
For many years Mrs. Stickles worked as a sewing machine operator for Duofold inIlion and Guilford Mills in East Herkimer until their closing. She then went on to BOCES in Herkimer and graduated from the Office Technician Course that was offered. With the skills that she had attained she went to work in the Otsego County Clerks Office where she retired in 2005.
To all who knew her, Lynne was a devoted wife and mother. Her family always came first and foremost. Cherished are the many memories of the camping and fishing trips that they all enjoyed. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her seven grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her devoted husband of forty-three years, George, two sons and their wives, Jeffrey and Diane Stickles, Charles and Terra Stickles all of West Winfield, two daughters, Brenda Krause of West Winfield, Mary Stickles of Richfield Springs, One brother, Paull and his wife Delores Watkins of Ilion, seven grandchildren, Natasha, Matthew, Keith, Jacob, Mykaela, Jennah and Abryana. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Patterson and a grandson Benjamin Stickles.
Funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 am in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend John Young will officiate. Interment will follow in Unadilla Forks Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Fax ton-St. Lukes Regional Cancer Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
