RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Marcella Neeves, age 90, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Richfield Springs, passed away on Friday morning March 10, 2017 in Bethany Lutheran Nursing Home, Sioux Falls. She was born on March 7, 1927 in Port Jervis, NY and was the daughter of the late Walter and Gladys Antenner Myer. Mrs. Neeves was a registered nurse and worked in White Plains Hospital in White Plains, NY. On May 8, 1954 she was united in marriage to Arthur E. Neeves in Milford, PA. They shared a loving and devoted union for forty-eight years until his passing on May 23, 2002. For many years, Mrs. Neeves worked with her husband, who was a flight instructor and airport manager, at an airfield in Mahopac, NY. In 1987, they moved to Richfield Springs and operated the Richfield Springs Airport. After leaving Richfield Springs in 2010, Marcella lived in Brookfield, CT for five years. For the final year and a half of her life, she resided in Sioux Falls, near her eldest son Brian and his family. Marcella had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Richfield Springs Bible Church. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed. Surviving her are four sons, Brian Neeves and his wife Carol of Sioux Falls, SD, Arthur Neeves of Leesburg, VA, Walter Neeves and his wife Pat of Midlothian, VA, and Peter Neeves of Syracuse, NY, two brothers, Walter Myer and his wife Janet and Greg Myer all of Milford, PA, and a sister, Kathy LaDestro and her husband Sal of Stamford, CT, and eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband, Arthur, a son, Kenneth Neeves, preceded her in death on February 10, 1999. Funeral service for Marcella Neeves will take place at Richfield Springs Bible Church on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Tosi officiating. The family will be present in the church to receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the funeral service (10:00 AM to 11:00 AM). Interment will be later this spring in Lakeview Cemetery at a time to be announced. The family wishes as an alternative to flowers, memorial donations are made to Richfield Springs Bible Church.
