HERKIMER-Marcia Rae Pedrick age 70 of Highland Avenue passed away on Sunday morning December 4, 2005 in her home. She had the warmth and comfort of her loving family at her side.
She was born on June 12, 1935 in Cincinnati, OH daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret Silkup Robinson. A lifelong Herkimer resident, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On August 20, 1955 she was united in marriage to Clayton W. Pedrick in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Herkimer. A devoted union of forty-six years, Mr. Pedrick preceded her in death on June 28, 2002.
Mrs. Pedrick had worked in domestic sales for the W. T. Grant Store and Nichols Department Store both in Herkimer and the Hennessey Food Service in Ilion. But her most enjoyable work was being a good wife and mother. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher and Parents Advocate for Herkimer County Career Tech Center. Marcia was an avid seamstress and used that talent working at the Forever Yours Bridal Shop in Little Falls. She took great pride in her work and was deserving of the many compliments that she received.
She had a strong belief in God and regularly attended the Emanuel Bible Church in Mohawk. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family especially her seventeen grandchildren and one great grandson.
Surviving are her loving children, Clayton D. Duke with his wife Sue Pedrick and their children Clayton and Jennifer of East Herkimer, Raymond Thomas with his wife Lora Pedrick and their children Katrina and Heather of East Herkimer, Brenda Lee Pedrick who preceded her in death on December 15, 1981, Timothy John with his wife Joyce Pedrick their children Felicia, Anita, Cassie and Larissa and grandson Colline Haule of Mohawk, Margaret with her husband Steve Manzo and children Brianna and Sara of Frankfort, Catherine with her husband Mike Wadin and their childrenCherie, Shelbi and Braiden of Oppenheim, Kimberly with her husband Brian Harrod and their children Shanna and Reese of East Herkimer, Kristie Pedrick and her children Chelsie and Brent Douglas of Oppenheim, one sister, Geraldine and her husband Paul Goldsmith of Newport, her close uncle Douglas Pedrick and Sylvia of Rockwood, a sister-in-law Nita Bell of Sprakers, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Emmanuel Bible Church, Mohawk, with Pastor Gary Wilcox officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. As an alternative to floral donations the family requests that memorial donations may be made to the East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department, Thermal Imaging Camera Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Memorial Service. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home Inc., Herkimer.
