BALDWINSVILLE-Margaret Cramer Dickens age 84 of 7740 Meigs Road formerly of Bellinger Avenue, Herkimer passed away on Friday afternoon, July 20, 2001 in St. Josephs Hospital, Syracuse.
She was born on September 12, 1916 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Morand and Nellie Heffron Cramer. Mrs. Dickens was raised in Herkimer and graduated Herkimer High School. She furthered her education at the Faxton School of Nursing, Utica where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. For fifteen years she practiced nursing at the Folts Home in Herkimer, retiring in 1980.
On October 19, 1943 she married Earl Dickens in Florida, a loving union of twenty-three years until his passing on July 25, 1967.
Her leisure time interests included playing cards, knitting, crocheting and ceramics. To her family she was the strength that held them together and will always be remembered as a loving, caring person.
Surviving her are two sons; William and James Dickens both of Liverpool, a sister; Mary Purdon of Ilion, three grandchildren; Tiffany Margaret Dickens, William James "BJ" Dickens both of Liverpool and Victor William Malambri of Michias, a niece, two nephews and several cousins.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Malambri in 1994.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend William Otis pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Center of Central New York would be appreciated. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
