HERKIMER-Margaret R. English age 89 passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, January 16, 2021 in Valley Health Services, Inc. She was born on June 25, 1931 in East Herkimer, daughter of the late Kenneth and Ethel Ray. A lifelong Herkimer resident, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On February 10, 1951 she was united in marriage to James W. English in the Herkimer Reformed Church. They shared a loving and devoted union of 49 years until his passing on November 9, 2000. Margaret had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Herkimer Reformed Church. Mrs. English was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed. Surviving her are one daughter, Julie Cring and her husband Michael of LaGrangeville, two sons and their wives, Gary and Kathy English of Ilion, Eric and Debbie English of Herkimer, eight grandchildren, Ryan English and his wife Sheryl, Kerry English, Christopher English and his wife Danielle, Eric English Jr., Joshua English and his wife Heather, Kaitlin Miller and her husband Ben, Nicole Weedon and her husband Jason, Paige Cring and Ken Stahl, thirteen great grandchildren, Ethan, Andrew, Hayden, Kensington, Tegan, James, Mia, Alexis, Colton, Bensyn, Chloee, Oliver and Ashtyn, a brother Kenneth Ray and his wife Hideko, a sister-in-law, Doris Ray along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents and husband James she was preceded in death by her brother, William Ray and sister-in-law Elizabeth Miller. A funeral and committal service will take place Monday June 1, 2021 in Fenner Funeral Home inc. 115 Court Street Herkimer, at a 11:00am. Margaret's family would like to thank the staff of Valley Health Services, Inc. for their loving and professional care, especially Nicole, Kristen, Alicia, Danielle, Linsey, Alysha and Robin.
