HERKIMER-Margaret H. Estes, age 98, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening January 31, 2021, in Valley Health Services, Inc. She was born on October 3, 1922, in Presque Isle, Maine, daughter of the late Perly and Christine Shepard Parker. Margaret was raised in Caribou, ME and was a graduate of Caribou High School. On November 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Irvin H. Estes in Caribou. They shared a loving and devoted union of thirty-seven years until his passing on June 9, 1982. Margaret first worked as a secretary in Washington DC until she married her husband who was in the construction business. His job entailed his traveling all over the country and she was with him the whole time. In 2002 she moved to Herkimer to be nearer to her family. Mrs. Estes had a strong belief in God and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hernando Beach FL. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading. She loved dogs, especially her canine companion Perky. To those who knew her they will never forget a feisty, caring and God centered lady who made friends easily. She will be truly missed. Her funeral service and interment will be held at Grace Memorial Gardens in Hudson, Florida.
