MOHAWK - Margaret Reynolds, age 90 formerly of State Highway 168, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning September 27, 2008 in Folts Homes, Herkimer, with her loving family at her bedside.
She was born on May 19, 1918, in Jordanville, the daughter of the late Earl Reed Walters and Lula Irish Walters-Yule. A lifelong area resident she graduated from Owen D. Young, VanHornsville. On September 6, 1937, she married Bertron Reynolds in the parsonage of the Jordanville Church. A loving and devoted marriage of 63 years, Bertron preceded her in death on December 4, 2000.
Margarets life revolved around her home and family. She took pride in her home and had a passion for gardening. She enjoyed cooking, and baking for her family. Many fond memories are brought to mind thinking of Grandmas Christmas parties and sharing fresh baked cookies. She enjoyed competitive games of cards, especially pitch. She was astute on current political matters as well as trivial facts of American history. However it was her integrity, compassion and strength that always remained the inspiration for her children in good and troubled times. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her seven children and their families, Beverly Liddle, Joyce Roberts and her husband Gordon, Raymond Reynolds and his wife Brenda, Janice Mayton and her husband Thomas all of Mohawk, Barbara Gage of Utica, Richard Reynolds and his wife Judy of Brookville, FL, Robert Reynolds of Ilion, fourteen grandchildren, Dawn Liddle, David Liddle and his wife Nora, Julie Burch and her husband William, Colin Gage and his wife Linda, Racheal Gage and fianc Gerald Barberio, Connie Dygert, Robin Church, and her husband Mark, Sandra Dygert and Chris, Richard Reynolds Jr. and his wife Linda, Margaret Esau and her husband Bruce, Bert Reynolds, Christy Reynolds, Scott Reynolds and his wife Christy, Ryan and Amanda Reynolds, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grand children, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband Bertron, she was predeceased by a son-in-law DeForrest Liddle and a great-granddaughter Katelyn Reynolds and step-brother Owen Yule.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the Folts Homes Activities Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
