HERKIMER - Marguerite Bickl Schmale, age 96, of 104 North Washington St., formerly of RD #2, Town of Warren, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 2, 2003, in Folts Homes, Herkimer. She was born on September 22, 1906 in Bavaria, Germany, daughter of the late George and Margarethe Bickl. Marguerite was raised and educated in Germany. She was married to Oscar Schmale who died on January 11, 1980. For many years, she was a childcare worker and nanny in the Richfield area. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. Surviving are one grandson, Gordon Mower, Jr.; two nieces, Rita Sweatman of Chestertown and Hertha Tartaglia of North Babylon, LI. Besides her parents and husband, Oscar, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Mower; and a son-in-law, Gordon Mower, Sr. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 24, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Richfield Springs. The Reverend Terence Healy will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Richfield Springs. Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
