Port Chester- Marian M. Angermire, age 92, of Halstead Ave., died on Friday, November 16, 2001, in United Hospital, Port Chester.
She was born on February 14, 1909, in Richfield Springs, the daughter of the late William J. and Margaret McGurk Angermire. Raised and educated in Richfield Springs, she graduated from Richfield Springs High School, continued her education at Good Counsel College, White Plains, and received a Library Degree from Albany State College.
From 1931 until 1945, she was the librarian for the Richfield Springs Central School System. Moving to Harrison in 1945, she worked for 35 years as a librarian for Harrison High School, retiring in 1979. Marian enjoyed traveling and would often visit her cousins in Central New York. She had been an active member of Saint Gregory the Great Church in Harrison, a member of their Rosary Altar Society and Solidarity, the New York State Federation of Teachers and past manager of the Teachers Credit Union in Harrison. She was a kind person who shared her love and friendship in countless ways and will be missed by her family and friends.
Surviving her are many close friends and cousins, including a first cousin, Donald Keehle, of New Hartford, Jean McGurk, of Sauquoit, Diane Hadfield, of Yorkville, Kathryn Montana, of Rock Hill, SC, Mary Ann Keehle, of Webster, Donald Keehle, of Frankfort, Kevin Keehle, of Sauquoit, Annmarie Kitts, Barbara Wahl-Shypski, and Donald Kitts, all of Richfield Springs, Robert Kitts, of Patterson, William Kitts, of Deery, NH, Cathy Marcus, of Ossining, James Kitts, of Loudenville, and Mary Skinner, of Whitesboro, and many great cousins.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday morning, 8:30 a.m., from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St., Richfield Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Richfield Springs. The Rev. Terance Healy will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
