Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS Marion J. Beecher, 94, of Main Street passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 25, 2005, in the Otsego Manor, Cooperstown. She was born May 2, 1911, in Whitehall, daughter of the late Elmer and Fannie Lyon Brownell. Marion was raised in Whitehall and was educated in Granville schools. On June 20, 1936, she was united in marriage with Leslie W. Beecher at the family home in Whitehall. A loving union of 46 years, Mr. Beecher preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1982. Marion and her husband came to Richfield Springs in 1942, from Granville, and she had resided here since. She had a strong belief in God and was a member of the Schuyler Lake Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. Mrs. Beecher was a devoted homemaker and mother. Her family came first and foremost. She was always there for them whether they were good times or bad. She will be truly missed. Surviving are one son, Harold Beecher of Milford; a daughter, Ann J. Beecher of Richfield Springs; three grandchildren, Jason and his companion, Heather, Joshua Beecher and Tiffany Beecher; one great-granddaughter, Emma Jade Beecher; two nieces, Sally Larrow of South Glens Falls and Diane Mylotte of Clifton Park. Besides her parents and husband, Leslie, four sisters, Grace Mylotte, Hazel Stevens, Gladys Bartholomew and Gertrude Mellon, predeceased her. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, in Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, State Route No. 28, Schuyler Lake. Frank Merrifield, Presiding Overseer of the Congregation, will officiate. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made with donations to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, Schuyler Lake, NY or the Catskill Area Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the memorial service. Funeral arrangements are with J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, Richfield Springs.
