Obituary

HERKIMER Marion E. Taylor, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2014 in the Masonic Care Community, Utica. She had the comfort of knowing her family was at her side. She was born on January 26, 1919, in Herkimer a daughter of the late Raymond and Stella Tarbox, Lowell. A lifelong area resident she was educated in the Herkimer school system. On December 2, 1939, she was united in marriage to William Taylor. They shared a devoted union of forty-four years until his passing on June 16, 1983. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church, Herkimer and was active with many church functions. She could always be found helping with church dinners and rummage sales. As a loving mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother she was proud of all their accomplishments. Marion cherished the times they spent camping along the St. Lawrence River and the many travels that were taken over the years. For relaxation she enjoyed the flowers in her garden, watching the birds and going for walks with her sister Pearl in Wal-Mart. Marion will be remembered as a cheerful lady, always ready to lend a caring hand. She will be truly missed. Surviving are her children, Raymond Taylor and his wife Kathleen Taylor, town of Ohio, Carol Rotach and her husband Gilbert of Westmorland, Linda Countryman of Remsen, Fred Taylor and his wife Laura of Sun City, AZ, , Patricia Welch and Butch of New York Mills, William Taylor and his wife Judy, town of Ohio, Jan Singer of Herkimer, Gail Warchol and her friend Larry of New Hartford, a daughter-in-law, Betty Taylor, of Newport, nineteen grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren, three brothers, Charles Lowell and his wife Ellen, Robert Lowell and his wife Arleta all of East Herkimer, James Lowell and his wife Geraldine of Herkimer, four sisters, Frances Castilla and her husband Angelo, Betty Boyer and her husband Hubert all of East Herkimer, Ellen Palmenteri and her husband Joseph of Albertson, LI, Pearl Swart of Vineland, NJ, sister-in law, Rosemary Ashcraft, Maples, NC, many nieces, nephews and cousin. Besides her husband William, she was preceded in death by a son George Taylor, a grandson, Joseph Barrett, Jr., and her sister Edna Reitz. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 am in the First Baptist Church of Herkimer. Interment will follow in Wilmurt Cemetery, Town of Ohio. The family will be present in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Herkimer or the Masonic Care Community. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Masonic Care Community for the care and kindness shown to their mother during her stay with them.
