Marjorie May Belle Simonds, 87, of Richfield Springs, passed away peacefully after a short illness on May 17, 2018 at Bassett Healthcare with her daughter at her side. She was born on May 21, 1930, in Pulaski, the daughter of Katherine Bond Coger and Romaine Coger.
She leaves behind her children Robert Coe, Jr., Carla (Fred) Eckler, James (Cindy) Coe and Jeffrey Simonds, grandsons Darren (Lisa) Eckler, RobertCoe III, Jason and Eric Coe, great-grandsons Jared and Justin Eckler, nephews Ron (Diane) Hubiak and Walter (Marge) Hubiak, niece Connie (Tom) Peeters and brother-in-law John Marriott.
Besides her parents, Marge was preceded in death by five sisters: Arlene Drake, Thelma Silliman, Madalyn Hubiak, Barbara Marriott and Mary Vivian Coger. She was also predeceased by husbands Robert Coe, Sr. and Walter Simonds and nephews Wayne Marriott and Ken Drake.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, for their compassionate care, to Linda Thayer for all that she did for Marge and to her landlords Ray and Pat Smith for keeping a watchful eye over her. A special thank you to Rev. Mark Ioset of the Church of Christ Uniting, Richfield Springs, for his spiritual guidance.
Marge prearranged to donate her body to Albany Medical College for research and medical education purposes. Honoring her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
