MOHAWK Martha Finocchio Sloboda Babe, age 76, of Mohawk and formerly of Richfield Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2009 n St. Lukes Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. She had the comfort of knowing her family was at her side. She was born on April 4, 1933, in Lodi, NJ, where she was raised and educated graduating Lodi High School in 1951. Coming from Highland Lakes NJ, she had resided in Richfield Springs since 1980 and more recently moving to Mohawk. Surviving are her devoted husband of 54 years, Carl Sloboda, her cherished three children and their families, daughter, Linda Kelly and her husband Jim of Wantage, NJ, son, Ron Sloboda, and his wife Dawn of Northport, FL, daughter Pam Walz and her husband Mike of Herkimer, a brother, Anthony Finocchio and his wife Anita of Clifton NJ, eight loving grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Ashley, Jeffrey, Alex, Marisa, Michael and Kayla, three great grandchildren, Isabella, Drake James and Kelson. She was predeceased by her beloved mother Martha Haertig Finocchio in 1991. There are no calling hours. A private service will be held in New Jersey at the convenience of the family.
