HERKIMER - Mary Ann Curtis of West German Street passed away on Friday November 10, 2000 in Albany Medical Center. She was born on March 29, 1926 in Canyon, TX daughter of Joe and Anna Cretsinger Bedenk.
During World War II, Mary worked for Western Union in various locations in the country. After the war she settled in Herkimer and began a satisfying career working for UNIVAC which spanned twenty years. She was united in marriage to John H. Curtis on December 22, 1956. They spent many enjoyable times among them fishing in the Adirondack Mountains. Mary was a talented woodworker, gardener and cook. She generously shared these talents with family and friends. She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband John in December of 1987, her parents and her brother Robert of Texas.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Gladys Bedenk of Panhandle, TX, her stepdaughter and her husband, Louise and Warren Sullivan of St. Louis, MO and her dear friends Janet Smithson, Eleanor Cross, Charlie and Joy Patterson who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday November 14th at 9:30am in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc. 115 Court Street Herkimer. The Reverend Brian Kellington, Rector of Christ Episcopal Church, Herkimer will officiate.
