HERKIMER-Mary Letti Hicks age 77 of Pleasant Avenue passed away after a long illness on Wednesday evening February 4, 2015 in her home. She had the comfort and support of her loving family at her side. ?She was born on January 9, 1937 in Ilion, daughter of the late Stewart and Mary Burdick Hicks. A lifelong area resident she was raised and educated in Ilion. Mary has resided in Herkimer since the year 2000 coming from Jordanville. In her leisure time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading and watching Country and Western Movies. A devoted mother, Mary loved her family and they loved her in return. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed. ?Surviving are three daughters, Debbie DeLong and Linda Moshetto both of Mohawk, Frances Murray of Herkimer, two brothers, Stewart Hicks II of the town of Ohio, Raymond Hicks of Ilion, two sisters, Margie Bartkowiac of Utica, Sharyn Besig of Mohawk, ten grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. ?Calling hours for Ms. Hicks will be on Monday from 5:00 until 6:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Funeral service will follow immediately after at 6:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will take place later this spring in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, West Winfield.
