Obituary

MOHAWK-Mary J. Hight age 74 of Vrooman Road passed away on Wednesday July 11, 2007 in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. She was born on October 24, 1932 in the town of Little Falls, daughter of the late George and Helen Lowell McCaw. A lifelong Mohawk resident she was a graduate of Mohawk High School class of 1951. Upon completion of high school she went to work for the Allegro Shoe Company in Little Falls. On June 12, 1954 she was united in marriage with Otto L. Hight in South Ilion. She left her employment with Allegro once she started her family and remained a devoted mother and homemaker there after. In her leisure time she enjoyed her yard, her flower garden, watching and feeding the many different birds that came to visit her. Inside her home you would find her crocheting, reading. To her family the unforgettable aromas of her cooking and baking will remain in their hearts forever. She will always be remembered as a caring, loving and hopeful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be truly missed. Surviving are her loving husband of fifty-three years Otto, Three sons, Douglas and his wife Nancy Hight, David Hight, Daniel and his wife Terry Hight all of Mohawk, three brothers and their wives, Robert and Margaret McCaw of Jacksonburg, Walter and Dale McCaw of Mohawk, John and Rose McCaw of Mohawk, six grandchildren, Michael, Rob, Amanda, Douglas DJ, Samantha and Daniel Hight Jr. along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers James and George McCaw. Funeral service will be on Friday at 10:00 am in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. The Reverend Helen M. Tracy Pastor of the Maynard United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls. There are no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
