HERKIMER-Mary Ann Hubbard age 80 of Elm Avenue passed away unexpectedly on Thursday afternoon May 3, 2012 in Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. She had the comfort of her loving family by her side.
She was born on December 7, 1931 in Herkimer, daughter of the late Myron and Ann
Trycheski Cristman. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was educated in Saint Francis deSales Regional School and was a graduate of Herkimer High School.
On November 18, 1949 she was united in marriage with William S. Hubbard in Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. Mrs. Hubbard had worked as a secretary for UNIVAC and later for Mohawk Data Sciences in Herkimer. She retired in 1985.
She was a member of Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer. Mary Ann had a strong love for the outdoors, in here leisure time she enjoyed her winters cross country skiing and her summers camping at Evergreen Lake in the Adirondacks. Mrs. Hubbard will always be remembered as a warm, caring, and hopeful lady with an unforgettable smile. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, especially her three grandchildren and great grandson.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-two years William, two daughters, Kathleen Copeland and her husband Ronald of York, Milissa Hubbard of Huntersville, NC, two brothers, Robert Cristman of Herkimer, Donald Cristman of Flowery Branch, GA, one sister, Eileen LeClair of St. Paul, MN, three cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey Copeland and his wife Laurie of Scottsville, Christine Copeland and her fiance Jason Dieter of Scottsville, Austin Fero of Ashville, NC, a great grandson, Alfred Hopkins, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Francis Cristman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am in Saint Francis deSales Church, Herkimer with the Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls. The family will be present in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer to receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.
Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
