RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Mary G. Seamon age 91 of County Route # 23 passed away on Wednesday evening March 28, 2007 in Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
She was born on March 10, 1916 in Uniondale, PA, daughter of the late Ilko and Theodosia Hubiak Garbera. As a young girl she and her family moved to Schuyler Lake where she was raised and educated.
On August 15, 1942 she was united in marriage with Lee C. Seamon in Duanesburg and in 1947 she with her husband purchased their family dairy farm on County Route # 23 in the town of Exeter.
Besides working the farm with her husband Lee, she also found time to maintain her home and raise their three children. In her leisure time Mary enjoyed reading, baking and cooking Ukrainian foods. To her family those wonderful aromas will remain in their hearts and minds forever. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be truly missed.
Surviving besides her husband of sixty-four years Lee, are a son Lee Roy Seamon and his wife Katherine of Richfield Springs, two daughters and their husbands, Vivian Lee and Clinton Sparks Jr. of Richfield Springs, Linda and Dennis Pedersen of North Grosvenordale, CT, one brother Harry and his wife Barbara of Richfield Springs, a sister Catherine Booth of Thomaston, CT, fifteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by six brothers, William, Peter, John, Michael, Nicholas and Thomas Garbera, two sisters, Julia Skramko and Anna Vallee.
Funeral service will be on Saturday at 1:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The Reverend John Young will officiate. Interment will be later this spring in Schuyler Lake Cemetery. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Saturday two hours prior to the funeral service (11:00 am to 1:00 pm). Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Schuyler Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
