RICHFIELD SPRINGS Maurene Jeanette Barrett age 54 of US Highway 20, passed away peacefully onThursday February 28, 2002 in her home with her loving family at her side. Shewas born July 12, 1947 in New York City, daughter of the late Eugene and HelenBulger Muller. Maurene was raised and educated in the Bronx until 1956 when herfamily moved to Richfield Springs. She was a graduate of Richfield Springs HighSchool class of 1965. OnFebruary 25, 1966 she married Harold A. Bud Barrett in Richfield Springs.For nineteen years she worked as a secretary for Bruce Hall Corporation,Richfield Springs. In 1989 she went to work for the Richfield Springs CentralSchool District retiring in 2000. Shehad a strong belief in God and was a member of St. Josephs Church, RichfieldSprings. Her family and home came first in her life. An artistic person sheloved ceramics and decorating each room in her home. Maurene was an avidgardener and spent many hours planting and caring for the flowers in her yard.She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and familyespecially her granddaughter and guiding light Allison Barrett. She will alwaysbe remembered as a loving, caring, and hopeful person. Survivingare her husband of thirty-six years Harold, one son Scott Barrett of Syracuse,two daughters; Donielle and her husband Robert Bradley of Whitesboro, ChristineBarrett of Richfield Springs, Christines special friend Brad Bellinger, adaughter-in-law Emily Barrett of Syracuse, one granddaughter Allison Barrett ofSyracuse, a very special niece Lisa Kafer of Las Vegas, NV and two nephews. Funeralservice will be on Saturday evening at 7:30pm in J. Seaton McGrath FuneralHome, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. The family will be present inthe funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 4:00 until7:00pm. Interment will be later this spring in Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Catskill Area Hospice, The AmericanCancer Society or the charity of your choice. Envelopes will be available at thefuneral home.
