NEWPORT-Maxine M. Harodecki age 77, passed away on Tuesday November 17, 2020 in Faxton-Saint Luke's Medical Center, New Hartford.
She was born on April 16, 1943 in Ilion, daughter of the late James and Marion Countryman Pratt. She was raised and educated in Herkimer, graduating from Herkimer High School. She furthered her education at Herkimer County Community College, obtaining an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. On July 6, 1963 she married Micheal J. Harodecki in Herkimer. In 1971, they moved outside of Newport, where they raised their family.
Maxine worked as a data entry clerk at RB Humphreys Trucking, retiring in 2016. Over the years she served the Town of Norway as Town Justice, Supervisor and on the town counsel. During her career, she also worked for the American Red Cross, Catholic Charities and the Herkimer County Sheriff's Department. She was also an active member of the Kuyahoora Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star # 145 for over fifty years.
She was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Surviving are her husband Micheal, a daughter, Deborah Potter and her husband Jerry of Saint Johnsville, a brother, Patrick Dunn and his wife Kathy of Ilion, two grandchildren, Daniel and Alyssa Wameling, and seven, great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by their son David.
Funeral services for Mrs. Harodecki will be private and held at a time convenient to the family. Funeral arrangements are with Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer.
