WHITESBORO - Michael Timothy Patterson age 47 passed away unexpectedly on Thursday March 16, 2017 in his home. He was born on January 19, 1970 in Brooklyn, son of Francis Edward and Alberta Grace Hendrickson Patterson. Michael was educated in Edmeston High School before enlisting in the US Army where he served in Germany working in communications. After his military service he attended Herkimer County Community College. He first worked for Rendes Restaurant in Herkimer and then for Walmart. Later he was employed as manager of Media News in Utica until they closed. In 2015 he moved to Whitesboro coming from Yorkville. Michael was a creative man with a photographic memory. He was artistic and enjoyed painting and ceramics. He also had the gift of being musically inclined. In his leisure time he enjoyed reading science fiction books and relaxing with his cat Mozart. To his family he brought great joy with his talents and being a loving father and brother. He will be sadly missed. Surviving him are one son, Brandon Patterson of Fort Plain, Michaels parents, Francis and Alberta Patterson, two brothers, James E. Patterson and his wife Jessica Jones of Clarksville, TN, Walter F. Patterson of Brentwood, LI, three sisters and their husbands, Alberta Patterson and Tyson Davis of Schuyler Lake, Phyllis Patterson and Samuel Ramos Jr. of Brentwood, LI, Allison and Brandon Stackout of Wareham, MA, several nieces, nephews, cousins and two great nephews. Mr. Pattersons family will be present to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs.
