SCHUYLER-Michael Jay Smithers age 56 passed away on Sunday November 1, 2015 in Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center. He was born on January 14, 1959 in Ilion, son of Beverly Hays Smithers and the late Leslie Smithers. A lifelong area resident he was raised in Frankfort and was a graduate of Frankfort High School. For over ten years Mr. Smithers worked as a sorter at the Recycling Center in Utica. Surviving beside his mother Beverly Smithers of Herkimer, are four siblings, Steven Smithers and his wife Kim of Sacramento, CA, Linda Goodwin and her husband Lev of Ponte Verda, FL, Nancy Smolen of Ponte Verda, FL, Patrick Smithers and his wife Nicole of Stratford, two nieces, Jessica Smolen, Alexandra Smithers, and five nephews, Joshua, Samuel, Robert, Mathias and Ezekiel Smithers.
