He had the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on May 14, 1922, in Herkimer, son of the late Carlo and Providenzia Liacano Volo. A lifelong area resident he was raised and educated in the Fort Herkimer. An honorably discharged US Navy veteran he proudly served his country in World War II. He will always be remembered as a good neighbor and true friend that touched many lives within the community. Throughout his farming days he employed several local boys and drove them in his station wagon daily to the School in the Center to make sure they got their education. To all who knew him he was a kind, caring and loving man. His greatest joy was his family, especially Sunday dinners, holidays at the farm, taking his grandchildren for ice cream, having tea and watching old western movies with his family.
