JOHNSON CITY - Mildred S. Mizerak, age 91, passed away after a brief illness early Wednesday morning, October 7, 2015 in the Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center, Johnson City. She was born in Little Falls on August 12, 1924, daughter of the late John and Kristina Mizerak. Her family moved to "Springwater Farm" in Springfield Center in 1927 where she grew up and graduate from East Springfield High School. She then enrolled in the Private Secretarial Department at Albany Business College and graduated in 1944. After employment at the Second National Bank in Cooperstown, Milly moved to Binghamton and was employed as a private secretary in General Electric and then for many years with I.B.M., retiring in1985. Milly loved the out of doors, traveling and camping with her close friends and family. She visited throughout Europe and the United States extensively. Bird watching and reading were also favorite pastimes. Although Milly resided in the Binghamton area most of her adult life, she visited the Springfield area regularly, enjoying many family get-togethers and spending time with her nieces, nephews, and their children as they grew up. She spent her last several years in the Assisted Living Program at the United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus, Johnson City. She is survived by sisters-in law Sara Mizerak of Auburn and Olga " Ollie" Mizerak of Richfield Springs; nephew Steven (Kaitlyn) Mizerak and c children David of Texas, Nicholas and Samuel of Whitesboro; nieces Kristina (Nelson) Dahl and children Loni and Riley Burnette all of Phoenix, A Z and Joanna (John) Tomlinson and their children Sarah and Alexandra all of Skaneateles. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Christine Cibulka, and three brothers John, Stephen, and Milan Mizerak all of Richfield Springs. At Milly's request there are no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, expressions o f sympathy may be made to your local animal shelter o r a charity of your choice.
