Herkimer - Mildred G. Paine, age 75, of 315 North Prospect Street (Midtown Apartments) and formerly of Jordanville, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning, January 5, 2005 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.
Born on October 3, 1929, in Utica, she was the youngest of six children. Her parents were the late Harold F. and Mildred (Ulrich) Reed. Raised and educated in Utica she attended St. Francis deSales School. She married Frank Snyder in 1948 in Utica. They shared a loving and devoted union of 20 years until his passing on February 24, 1968. She worked as a seamstress for Duofold Manufacturing from 1969 to 1973. In 1983 she married Harold L. Paine. He predeceased her in 1987. Coming from Jordanville, she had resided in Herkimer since 1990.
A member of St. Francis deSales Church Herkimer she had a strong belief in God and lived a devoted Catholic life. Mildred truly enjoyed being a homemaker. She took great pride in her home, cooking and baking goodies for the family. Her greatest joys were time spent with family especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a caring and helpful person. Mildred was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving children, Marjorie I. Hubiak and her husband Walter T. of Richfield Springs, David A. Snyder of Mohawk, Donald E. Snyder of Richfield Springs, Frank E. Snyder and his wife Teresa of Wallkill, Gary W. Snyder of Richfield Springs, Harold F. Snyder and his wife Melody of Mohawk, eleven grandchildren ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Francis deSales Church Herkimer. Reverend Mark Cunningham, will officiate. Interment in St. Josephs Cemetery, Richfield Springs will take place next spring.
The family will be present in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs, to receive relatives and friends on Friday for 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
As an alternative to sending flowers the family requests that memorial donation be made to St. Judes Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
