ST. JOHNSVILLE Mildred McKinzie Wester, 77, of St. Johnsville Nursing Home, formerly of 326 Lansing Street, Herkimer, died Friday, March 31, 2000 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. Millie, as she was affectionately known, was born in Hillsboro, TX and had lived in Herkimer for 49 years. She was a communicant of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer. Mrs. Wester had been active in community affairs including the Herkimer Garden Club, the Herkimer Hospital Auxiliary, secretary to the Village Board and cub scouts. Her husband Robert of 53 years died on April 26, 1998. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Herringshaw of Keeseville, Patricia Perry of Ft. Plain, Pamela McGarry of Fayetteville; three sons, Robert Jr. of Cazenovia, David of Smithtown, and James of Zeitlofs, Germany; a sister, Dorothea Hensarling of Del Rio TX; a brother, Charles David of Ponca City, OK; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 9:30a.m. in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc. 115 Court Street, Herkimer, with the Reverend William Otis, pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, New Hartford. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Bassett Health Care Center Herkimer.
