Obituary

RICHFIELD SPRINGS-Monte R. Domion age 59, of Gulf Road, passed away on Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2002, in Saint Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica, with the comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on April 26, 1943, in Cooperstown, son of Janice Gaylord Domion and the late Phillip Sr. Domion. A lifelong Richfield Springs resident he was a graduate of Richfield Springs High School. He was an honorably discharged US Air Force veteran. On July 10, 1965, he married Jean M. Oakes in Saint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs. Together they owned and operated the Meadow Brooke Dairy Farm in Richfield. Mr. Domion was also a seed dealer. Monte was a hard worker, and a devoted family man. He was an avid outdoorsman whose hobby was photographing wildlife. He had a fun-loving sprit and will always be remembered for his jokes and stories. His contagious laughter endeared him to everyone and he will never be forgotten. He was a member of Saint Josephs Church Richfield Springs, a member of Farm Bureau and had served on the Richfield town Planning Board. Surviving beside his wife of thirty-seven years Jean, are two sons, Albert I. Domion of Richfield Springs, Adam J. Domion of Albany, a daughter, Monica M. Domion of Richfield Springs, his mother, Janice Domion of Easton, PA, of two brothers, Phillip Domion Jr. and his wife Bonnie, James Domion and his wife Kristin all of Richfield Springs, four sisters and their husbands, Connie and Ray Nassar of Richfield Springs, Barbara and Fred Huyck of PA, Joan and Michael Lahr of Texas, Jennifer and James Easton of PA, several special nieces and nephews and many cousins. Besides his father, two brothers Eddie Domion and Lonnie MacIntosh preceded him in death. Funeral from J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs on Thursday at 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in Saint Josephs Church Richfield Springs. The Reverend Terrance Healy will officiate. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Richfield Springs Emergency Rescue Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
