RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Muriel Ivy "Molly" Lent, 93, of River Street, entered into eternal rest Wednesday morning, Feb. 26, 2003, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Ilion.
She was born Oct. 24, 1909, in London, England, daughter of the late William and Ellen Holloway Cooper. Molly was raised in England and graduated high school there. After completing high school, she worked as a telephone operator in England. It was during World War II that she met her husband-to-be, Louis B. Lent, who was serving with the United States Army. They were married Feb. 24, 1945, in Winchester, England. Theirs was a loving and devoted union of 49 years until his passing Aug. 23, 1994.
Mrs. Lent had a strong belief in God and led a devoted Episcopalian life. She was a member of Saint John's Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her two sons, Paul and his wife Rosemarie Lent of San Antonio, Texas, and Kevin Lent of Syracuse; one daughter, Christine and her husband Leonard Kraeger of Ilion; a sister-in-law, Helen Petriski; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Eric and Allyson Lent, Craig, Jeffrey and Christie Kraeger, Alex and Robert Williams; three great-grandchildren, Jared, Taylor Marie and Miranda Williams; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service with Holy Eucharist from the Book of Common Prayer will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Saint John's Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs. The Rev. John Dixon Bartle, rector, will officiate.
The family will be present to receive relatives and friends in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James St., Richfield Springs, on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Mrs. Lent will be laid to rest in Lake View Cemetery, Richfield Springs, later this spring at a time to be announced.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Saint John's Episcopal Church, Richfield Springs, or the Hospice of Herkimer and Oneida County. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home.
