RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Nancy Avril Fenstermacher age 61 of Bronner Manor passed away peacefully on Friday evening October 28, 2011 in the Otsego Manor, Cooperstown.She had the comfort of her loving family at her side.
She was born on December 22, 1949 in Amsterdam, daughter of the late Carmen Lee and Catherine Wilma Fish Fenstermacher. Nancy was raised in Johnstown and graduated from Johnstown High School with the class of 1968. She furthered her education at Fulton-Montgomery Community College where she received an Associates Degree.
Nancy will always be remembered as a caring and hopeful person.She found much satisfaction helping displaced homemakers through her work. In her leisure time she enjoyed making crafts and baking for her many friends and family. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are two daughters and their husbands Vanessa and James Geywits of Richfield Springs, Mary and James Chapman of Amsterdam, one son Elijah Steward and his companion Christine Nichols of Amsterdam, a brother, Vernon Fenstermacher of Johnstown, four sisters, Leslie Fenstermacher of Mayfield, Rena Lane and her husband Joseph of Ilion, Gail Borghol and Dale Schuyler both of Johnstown, six cherished grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ms. Fenstermachers family will be present to receive relatives and friendsin J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street; Richfield Springs on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 7:00 pm with the Reverend John Young officiating.Committal service will take place on Friday at 1:00 pm at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the Catskill Area Hospice or your favorite childrens charitable organization.Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
