RICHFIELD SPRINGS - Nancy Jean Kennedy, age 64 passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017. She was born on October 29, 1952, in Jacksonville, FL, a daughter of the late Clifford and Marjorie Priest Weyrauch. Coming from Long Island she has lived in Cooperstown and Richfield Springs since 1989. At one time whe was married to Christopher Kennedy. For many years she worked as a short order cook in various resturants on Long Island and locally, retiring in 2002. Nancy loved cooking, cross stitch and gardending. She had a skill for crafts especially working with flowers. She enjoyed making wreaths and floral arrangements with both silk and fresh flowers. She was a collector of knick-kacks especially pig figurines. Nancy was a stong, independent woman who was passionate about life. She had the ability to sense a persons need and lend a helping hand when they needed it most. She will be remembered for her sharp witted sense of humor and will be sadly missed. Surviving are three daughters, Kristin Kane and her husband Shawn of Richfield Springs, Rebecca Kennedy and her fiance Richard Ellis of Binghamton, Kimberly Russell and her husband Mark of Sicilly, Italy, two grandchildren, Daniel and Madison Kane of Richfield Springs, one sister Linda Kiesow of Roseboom, her former husband Christopher Kennedy of Fairfild, CT, a niece, Lisa Shaffer and her husband Ben and their children, Curtis and Addison of South Valley. Also surviving are an aunt and many cousins in Middltown and Long Island. Besdies her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Michael Weyrauch. Calling hours will be on Friday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. A funeral service will follow at 4:00pm in the funeral home. The Reverend John P. Rosson, pastor of St. Marys RC Church, Cooperstown will officate. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling Hours J.
