HERKIMER-Nora M. Holke age 92 formerly of 128 Piper Road passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening December 25, 2013 in Folts Homes, Herkimer.
She was born on January 6, 1921 in Herkimer daughter of the late George and Anna Sattora Miller. A lifelong Herkimer resident she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On November 15, 1944 she was united in marriage with Donald Holke in the First Baptist Church parsonage in Herkimer. A devoted union of fifty two years until his passing on September 17, 1996. For thirty years Mrs. Holke worked as a Data Processor for UNIVAC in Ilion. She retired in 1978. Nora had a strong belief in God and was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls. To her many friends she was a gentle, caring and helpful lady with an unforgettable smile. She will be sorely missed.
Surviving her are two sisters, Lois Cristman and Katherine Baker, a sister-in-law Betty Miller, several nieces and nephews including, Pamela Putch and her husband John, Michael Cristman and his wife Cheryl, Patrick Cristman and her husband Denise and Cathy Lowell and her husband Albert all of Herkimer and many grand nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband Donald she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, George Jr. and Ervin Miller, one sister Delia Iverson.
A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Holke will be held later this spring in Oak Hill Cemetery at a time to be announced. There are no calling hours.
The family wishes to thank the Folts Homes for the care and compassion extended to Nora during stay. It was deeply appreciated.
