HERKIMER - Nora M. Rivenburg, age 69, of North Prospect Street, died peacefully on May 14, 2005 in St. Elizabeths Hospital, Utica after a short illness.
She was born on August 13, 1935 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Clarence and Sylvia (Fellows) Rivenburg. A lifelong Herkimer resident she worked at the former Riveys Corner Store on King Street and later as a stock cashier at Pharmhouse, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls.
As a true and loyal friend, Nora was always there in both good times and bad. She had an outgoing nature, enjoyed joke telling, and being with people. She had diversified collections of pens, mugs, baseball caps, and tweety birds. She will be remembered most for riding her cherished Moped around town.
Surviving are two brothers, Clarence Rivenburg and his wife Barbara of East Herkimer, John Rivenburg and his wife Gail of Little Falls, one sister Ruth Engells and her husband Robert of Mohawk, several nieces, nephews, cousins and dearest friends, Bill and Nancy Conkling, Ruth Madison, Eric Madison, Nancy Jones and her husband Kurt and her friends from Midtown apartments.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Shirley Iredell.
A service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Fenner Funeral Home Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer. Reverend Wrightson Tongue, pastor of the First United Methodist Church Herkimer/Little Falls will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Memorial Gardens. There are no calling hours.
