Obituary

HARTWICK - Patricia Breheny age 57 of State Highway# 28 passed away on Saturday evening January 19, 2008 in MaryImogene BassettHospital, Cooperstown. She was born July 20, 1951 in Amsterdam, daughter of the late William F. and Dorothy Celia Johnson Warner. A lifelong area resident she was a graduate of Cooperstown High School. Mrs. Breheny has lived in Hartwick since 2000 coming from Fly Creek. She was married to Daniel Breheny who preceded her in death. For twenty-three years she worked in the Medical Records Department of Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital. During that time she attained the position of Supervisor and retired in1995. After her retirement from Bassett Hospitalshe worked for six years concurrently as bookkeeper at Bruce Hall in Cooperstown and for Jim Truex as manager of the Schuyler Lake Hotel. During that time she also worked closely with Mr. Truex assisting him with his duties as Supervisor of the Town of Exeter. Pat had a true sense of community; she was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Richfield Springs Volunteer Fire Department and the Richfield Springs Lioness Club. To all who knew her will remember her warm smile and friendly manner. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her many friends and family especially, her two grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Surviving are three sons, Casey Snyder of West Winfield, Craig Snyder and his wife Melisa of Exeter, Cole Snyder of Hartwick, one brother, William Jim Warner and his wife Audrey of Richfield Springs, a sister Jean M. Shipman and her husband Greg of San Antonio, TX, two grandchildren, Connor M. and Austin M. Snyder of Exeter, three nieces, Laurie, Carrie and Jill Warner, two nephews, Bob and Bill Shipman along with several cousins. Funeral service will be on Wednesday at 6:30 pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home; 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. Nancy Brown, Director of Parish Life for Saint Josephs Church, Richfield Springs will officiate. Committal will take place later this spring in St Marys Cemetery, Cooperstown. The family will be present in the funeral home to receive relatives and friends Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the charity of your choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
