Patricia was born Jan. 9, 1929, in Prescott, Wisconsin, to William and Elizabeth (McCormick) Jacques. She was famous from a young age as the baby on a pile of corn, the logo for her fathers seed corn company. She attended college for a year, art school for another year, and then left school to marry and start a family with Richard L. Karpen. Pats true passions in life were her family and friends, painting, traveling, and bridge. She was a loving wife, and mother of eight children. Her grandchildren filled her life with joy and constant laughter. She loved spending time with family and friends at Pleasant Lake in the Adirondacks. She practiced art throughout her busy life, becoming an accomplished watercolorist. She was an avid bridge player, achieving the title of life master in duplicate bridge. But what we will remember most is her wonderful sense of humor. Patricia was preceded in death by her son Richard.
