Patricia Werczynski, age 86, died on 6/4/22 after a long, courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease.
Pat was born to John & Bertha Thomann. She was raised & educated in Utica, NY. She attended Utica Free Academy where she excelled in a variety of activities most notably track and field. After graduation, Pat earned an Associate's Degree in accounting. Pat began her working career at the Utica Board of Education. Shortly thereafter, Pat met a handsome farm hand named John Werczynski who later became her husband, soulmate and best friend. From their first meeting until John's sudden passing in 1991 they remained in awe of each other. John and Pat successfully ran the John Werczynski Farm for many years later adding a milk bottling plant. John was proud to say he ran the barn but Pat ran the house. After John's sudden death, Pat continued to run the business while raising her family. Pat was an excellent cook having developed her culinary skills under John's tutelage. While Pat had many interests, including her love of Polka Dancing, her main focus until the time of her death was her family.
For the last 30 years Pat has struggled with progressive Parkinson's disease. While the disease robbed Pat of her motor skills, it did not touch her heart or soul. During the last years of her life Pat was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Cynthia, who was honored to accept this responsibility.
Pat is survived by her children: John (June) Werczynski, Cynthia Werczynski, Jane (Matt) Brennan & James (Gina) Werczynski. Her brothers Chris & Richard (Diane) Thomann. A special Godchild Susan Constantine, numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters Evelyn Thomann & Shirley (Anthony) Constantine and her brother John "Jack" Thomann. Also her sister in laws: Jenny (Walt) Rudnick, Helen Hoyt & Katherine (Raymond) Owens & brother in laws Vincent, Edward & Stanley (Delores) Werczynski & nephews John Owens & John Werczynski.
The Family wishes to thank Dr. Arul Kannan for his compassionate care during Pat's illness. He never failed to respond when called and a special thank you to Aaron Costello and the MOVAC team for their spectacular efforts. You will never be forgotten
