EAST HERKIMER-Patrick Daniel Parese Sr. age 70 passed away on Tuesday morning November 10, 2015 in Saint Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica. He had the support and comfort of his loving family at his side. He was born on August 14, 1945 in Little Falls, son of the late Patsy and Mary Dandrea Parese. A lifelong area resident he was educated in Saint Mary's Academy in Little Falls and graduated from Herkimer High School. On February 5, 1966 he was united in marriage to the former Sally Jacobson in the Herkimer Reformed Church. They made their home in East Herkimer and have resided there since. Pat worked at the Library Bureau in Herkimer before going to Remington Arms Company where he worked in the stock sanding department. He retired in 1999 after twenty-six years of loyal service. Mr. Parese was a forty-nine year member of the East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department where he was involved with firematics. For many years he coached baseball in different youth leagues. He loved to attend school functions and sporting events for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pat was a true blue New York Giants football fan and loved Elvis. Pat enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid golfer. To those who knew him he was a good natured man with an unforgettable smile. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his devoted wife of forty-nine years, Sally; his two sons and their wives, Robert and Carrie Parese of Little Falls, Patrick "Butch" and Melissa Parese of East Herkimer, five cherished grandchildren, Danielle Parese and her fianc' Joshua, Rebecca Parese, Lindsey Parese, Katelyn Parese and Patrick Parese, his aunt, Harriett Green of Little Falls, sisters-in-law, Joan Franklin and Nancy Tubia with her husband Anthony, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his niece Jami Knapp and brother-in-law Owen Franklin. Calling hours for Mr. Parese will be on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street; Herkimer. Funeral service will take place on Monday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made with memorial donations to the East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Members of the East Herkimer Volunteer Fire Department are asked to meet at the funeral home on Sunday at 4:00 pm for services.
